Ordination to the Priesthood and the Diaconate
"...As priests and deacons, we should serve the Lord with our whole heart... service in this way of life came from our initiative... we should always be awake and ready because the Lord will come at that time which we do not expect..."
This is what Manila Auxiliary Bishop Broderick Pabillo, D.D. reminded two Augustinian friars who were ordained as priest and deacon last August 27, the feast of Saint Monica, mother of Saint Augustine.
The two friars were Fray Marlon David, OSA, who was ordained to the Order of Deacons and Fray Jay-R Seron, OSA, who was ordained to the Order of Presbyters.
Other Augustinian friars also concelebrated the ordination mass. The former parish priest of the Shrine of the Holy Cross in Batalay, Catanduanes was also present during the event.
The event was also graced by several Augustinian Recollect Sisters, Augustinian Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation and Missionaries of Charity Sisters.
Dinner was served after the ordination mass.
Fray Jay-R is currently assigned at the Vicariate of the Orient's newest mission station, the Shrine of the Holy Cross at Batalay, Virac, Catanduanes along with Fray Aldrin Alvarado, OSA and Fray Edwin Hari, OSA (community immersion).
Meanwhile, Fray Marlon is currently assigned at the Convento de Santo Niño de Baseco, along with Augustinian friars Fray Joseph Villareal, OSA, Fray Juanito Caspe, OSA, and Fray Faith Ponce, OSA.
